Wealth, power, prestige, and beauty. There is something all too alluring about the premise of the CW's hit series, Gossip Girl. GG may need to pay homage to the late O.C., but with the backdrop of the Big Apple under its jewel encrusted belt, Gossip Girl climbs to new levels of wicked woes, wows, and wonderfuls. Whether it's the succulent sexcapades, the devious plots, the witty repartee or simply the bebazzling headbands, the Upper East Side has everyone's pearls in a knot. For me, the whirlwind limo ride that is Gossip Girl has become increasingly addictive, as I tune in each week to get a glimpse at the sizzling scandal, style + Leighton Meester. Simply put, I would welcome an anonymous narrator to frame my life with coy and ominous remarks any day of the week. However, not all of us are as monetarily blessed as the Gossip Girl gals. 4. Why Men Love Bitches.
Haven't you heard? Blair Waldorf is the only crazy bitch around here, but not for long. Accordingly to a slew of my not-so-single friends, the secret to bitches' success with men is revealed in Sherry Argov's "Why Men Love Bitches". We all know Blair Waldorf is one sly schemer, knocking bitches' down to maintain her reign, but despite her heartless manhandling, she always seems to seal the deal. B isn't alone in her feats, all the other tasty tarts of GG get their prospective princes. Alas, there must be some validity behind the title of this guide that promises to equip women with the skills to make men fall in love. I've skimmed it, but my friends swear by it. Manipulate at your own risk, bitches, I mean, uh, ladies.

5. Shower Flip Flops.
I stole the next item from B's dorm shopping list posted by the Gossip Girl herself. I love Tory Burch, these are durable + practacle. I'm not sure if I'd rock them in the dreaded dorm showers, (Mine are throw-aways from target), but when you're a Waldorf I suppose these would be deposable.

6. Fashion Inspired Wall Art
The Bass/Van der Woodsen Manhattan apartment is decorated to die for--from the lavish embellishments to the opulent color palette, it is a premier pad for the privileged princesses of Gossip Girl. I especially am in love with the shrine to Prada Marfa located near the entrance to the apartment. In the rare chance that you were unaware, the piece alludes to the sculpture that was built along an isolated stretch of U.S. Highway 90, near the town of Marfa, Texas, masquerading as a Prada mini-boutique .

9. Classic Literature
The GG gals are aiming for Ivy, and what is a world class education without a taste of classical literature? Les Liaisons is 16th Century French epistolary novel by Peirre Choderlos de Lacios. I read it when my obsession with a 90's flick was mounting. I shall copy and paste the Book description for efficiency:
"The complex moral ambiguities of seduction and revenge make Les Liaisons dangereuses (1782) one of the most scandalous and controversial novels in European literature. Its prime movers, the Vicomte de Valmont and the Marquise de Merteuil--gifted, wealthy, and bored--form an unholy alliance and turn seduction into a game. And they play this game with such wit and style that it is impossible not to admire them, until they discover mysterious rules that they cannot understand. In the ensuing battle there can be no winners, and the innocent suffer with the guilty. This new translation gives Laclos a modern voice, and readers will be able to judge whether the novel is as "diabolical" and "infamous" as its critics have claimed, or whether it has much to tell us about a world we still inhabit."
Sound familiar? It was adapted to film in the 80's, then redone in 1999 under a new title. Does a little film called Cruel Intentions ring a bell? It's a must read for any GG fan, as the Gossip Girl novels have strong ties to this original masterpiece.

10. Kicks
Last but not least, I want to explore Vanessa's love of high tops. My roommate over the summer totally turned me on to funky, bold sneakers + Vanessa is not afraid to flaunt a pair of ferocious kicks. My first pair were these: Nike Womens Dunk High – Metallic Silver – Turquoise – Snakeskin.
