Mean Girls, Bullies, and Bitches That Hit You In The Face: A Tutorial On How To Deal With Mean Girls

Haters will always hate. Players will always play. And me? Well I can always be counted on to get the last word--or at least profit from other people’s mean-spirited shenanigans in a totally self-serving, Jon-Stewart-Show kind of way.

Facebook and Break-ups: It Is What It Is.

Break-ups suck for all parties involved. It really doesn’t matter whether you are the the dumpee or the dumper. You can be the cheater, the liar, or the naïve one. You can participate in the “mutual break-up” which we all know is a sham. The heartbreaker or the heartbroken. When dealing with break-ups, God is great, beer is good, and people are batshit crazy.

When Parents Facebook Chat

Let me premise this by saying my mother isn’t illiterate. Nor is she is technologically challenged. In fact, she’s a pretty smart lady. When I was younger, she could be counted on to solve our computer calamities, fumble around with our entertainment system until it blared backstreet boys, and was the only person who knew how to change the batteries in my Furby.

Happy Birthday To Me: A Case of the Terrible Twenty-Twos.

I've always considered birthdays to be the creme de la creme of Holidays. You can gobble frosted goodies, weep uncontrollably if you so choose, and accessorize with fantastic things like plastic tiaras and sashes proclaiming your superior state of being. You can even splurge on a new outfit, as every Birthday Girl can somehow justify spending a little extra for a spanking new Birthday ensemble. With this mind, I was disappointed to find that I was not whole-heartedly enthused about turning 22 years old. There were no new rights to acquire this time around and I found that consuming cocktails in excess was a lot less acceptable than it was just a mere year ago. However, after attending a week's worth of birthday soirees in celebration of my friends' birthdays and my own, on the eve of my birthday, I am changing my tune. I was fortunate enough to see friends and family from all over the State in three lovely sittings. Birthdays from now on will be a welcomed excuse to gather with my loved ones to eat cake and create memories.

Three Trendy Treats to Add to Your Birthday List:

1. Cupcakes

Cupcakes are an awesome alternative to Birthday cake and a tasty trend among young Hollywood. My roommate introduced me to the The Cupcake Station, a bakery in my hometown, that specializes in all things cupcakes, even allowing for consumers to order online: http://bit.ly/aEEaL1

The Bakery offers featured flavors for each month and designs special, unique and personalized cupcakes for events and special occasions. Nom Nom Nom. These designer cupcakes will set you back between $2.75 to $6.00 a cupcake depending on size and flavor.

2. Colorflame Candles

Gaga, Meet Josef Frank: Google Celebrates Innovation in Design

I applaud Google for celebrating an array of eccentric people and obscure events in the form of an eye-catching Google Doodle on their homepage each month. For me, many of Google’s picks serve as an impromptu history lesson about people and events I might otherwise never have stumbled upon, often forcing me to scavenge for additional information on the subject. Despite my commitment to fostering a better-rounded bank of information, I must still admit that a personal favorite of mine was the infamous Pac-Man application that successfully distracted me from my work for a week straight.

In any case, Google Doodles are always met with enthusiasm by the world of the Web, a welcomed change to a mundane morning in the office. Upon opening my browser bright and early this morning, I feasted my eyes upon an intricate design of the outdoors emerging from all sides of the glorious Google logo. Tickled with excitement, I clicked the logo to learn all about the person or event that Google believed was worth celebrating this humid, July morning. Josef Frank? Huh? Who’s he?

One Google search later, I discovered that there wasn't an extensive Wikipedia entry about this mystery man as there usually is about Google Doodle celebrities. An Austrian-Swedish architect and designer, Josef Frank was best known for his innovative designs and intricate textile work. Frank is accredited for revolutionizing Swedish Modernism, producing over 200 patterns between 1909 and 1950. Frank's designs refuse to obey contemporary guidelines by providing a colorful contrast to the linear constraints that defined modernism during his time. He was responsible for creating the Vienna School of Architecture and today would be his 125th birthday, may he rest in peace.

"Every human needs a certain degree of sentimentality to feel free, away with the universal styles, away with the equalization of industry and art." I like this guy. Lady Gaga, meet Josef Frank. Interested in getting your hands on his prints? It will cost you a pretty penny, his prints range from $250 to $350 a yard. Instead, try this Josef Frank inspired from Fabric.com:

Rebecca Minkoff's Double Entendre

I am always delighted and surprised to see high fashion designers join Affiliate Networks. I view it as a sign that they are willing to make their brands more accessible to the general public, a plus to anyone forced to shop on a budget. As such, Rebecca Minkoff came back on my radar when she popped up in Linkshare's list of new retailers. Rebecca Minkoff's newest line of handbags and accessories stands out for its bold colors, generous use of exposed hardware, and reasonable prices. The line's subtle edginess allows for it to appeal to a mass audience, suitable with a suit in the workplace and yet still perfectly at home paired with sky-high heels and dark lit rooms. However, the homerun factor for Miss Minkoff has to be the clever, tongue-in-cheek names that the young designer dubs her fashion forward pieces. As an admirer of witticism, I find her frisky innuendoes serve as a conversation starter and a sexy, yet intelligently sophisticated reminder to strut a little straighter and to behave a bit more brazen.

Minkoff debuted her handbag collection in 2005 with her headliner, "The Morning After" Bag. Since her initial playful pun, she has has added the Bread and Wine tote, the Paper Plastic Wallet and Cheeky Pouches with phrases such as “Benjamins” and “Trustfund” to her various lines. Although a fairly new designer, young Hollywood has been seen out and about sporting Minkoff's dashing designer ware and handbags and are a favorite of  celebrities such as gnyness Deyn, Lauren Conrad, Whitney Port, Jessica Alba, Ashley Greene, and Reese Witherspoon. In 2009, Minkoff, a connoisseur of all things chic, launched her line of leather studded accessories which I find to be the fine garnish on the classy cocktail that is Rebecca Minkoff. I don't think she'd have it another other way.

I picked my fave for your viewing pleasure:
